Changing Grades and Subjects Taught on Newsela

Updating your preferences in your profile settings allows Newsela to tailor content to better match your interests. Please be aware that the subject areas you choose will reflect in your administrative reports, identifying you as a teacher of those subjects. Should you have any questions, feel free to submit a support request here. Otherwise, please follow the instructions below to customize your profile preferences.

To add or remove grades and subjects taught on Newsela

  1. From the Newsela homepage, click on your initials in the top right corner, and click on settings.

  2. Scroll down to Content Preferences.

  3. Choose the appropriate grades and subjects. You can also choose to edit the languages you are teaching.

  4. The option to save changes will highlight once changes are made. Select this to save your selections.
