Quizzes and Reviewing Quiz Scores

Each level of most Newsela articles has its own 4-question reading comprehension quiz.

Students can complete quizzes at newsela.com or on the Newsela mobile app.

Teachers can always view answer keys, and students see answer keys after submitting a quiz.

To view answer keys from a teacher account, follow these steps:

  1. Go to an article and select the level for which you want to see the quiz answer key.

  2. Click Teach this article to open the activities panel.  

  3. Click 'view/edit' next to the Quiz item line

  4. Click on 'Preview' at the top of the panel to view the quiz answers

  5. Use the 'Next' and 'Back' buttons at the bottom of the panel to navigate to the next or previous question on the quiz
