Usage Report (Beta)
Overview of feature
Gain clarity on how Newsela is being used in alignment with the recommended usage requirements outlined in our efficacy studies. Access the in-product usage reporting to see which schools and classrooms are using Newsela. See the number assignments created, write prompts completed, quizzes submitted, and more.
Multiple ESSA Tier II studies have shown that weekly Newsela use leads to accelerated learning and achievement gains in ELA and social studies by reading two articles a week and completing the quiz. Consult your usage reports to ensure your school or district is using Newsela with frequency for maximum impact on students.
Who can access it?
Customers with a subscription to Newsela ELA, Social Studies, Science, and/or Essentials have access to usage reports. The Newsela user must be a school or district admin to access this report. Users of Newsela Lite do not have access.
Where can I access it?
Newsela school or district administrators can access the usage report by selecting from the Reports drop down menu in the navigation.

** Both efficacy charts allow a district or school to understand if their teachers and students are using Newsela according to our dosage recommendations.
**Note: Usage reports update every 5 minutes.
How to use it
Filter by school, grade and date range.
Hover over any point in the efficacy chart to reveal the specific data for that week.
Click the hamburger icon at the far right of the efficacy chart to activate Pattern mode on the chart plot, enable Table view (will appear below the chart), or view in full screen mode.
